Here we answer some of the most common questions we receive about Pronova and Pronova's packaging system.
General
Where does the name Joker come from?
The name refers to the Joker/trump card in a deck of cards.
Where are the machines manufactured?
All machines are manufactured in Halmstad on the west coast of Sweden
Which quality systems are you certified for?
The entire operation is certified for ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and the production is certified for ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management System).

Which machine model should I choose?
It depends on what your product and your other production look like, what capacity you are looking for, what options you want or need. Contact us then we can guide you to the right machine model.
Can you pack manually and/or automatically
Yes, our machines can be equipped with a work table for manual filling or they can be integrated with filling equipment for automatic filling.
What standard options do you have for the packaging machines?
Work table, foot pedal, printer stand, under belt, air exhaust, zipper opener/closer, compression unit, product detection, filling funnel, vibrating unit, etc.
Can optional equipment be retrofitted to the machine?
Yes. The vast majority of optional extras can be added to most of our models afterwards. Contact us for more information.
Can you rent packaging machinery?

How can I get service on the machine?
One can contact us If needed, we will come and service your machine.
What support am I entitled to as a customer from Pronova?
You can call us for free support Monday-Thursday between 8 AM and 4 PM, and Fridays from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Can one buy spare parts from you?
Yes, we have a large stock of spare parts which we can usually ship the same day we receive the order.
How often do spare parts need to be replaced on the packaging machine?
Our machines are built with few parts that need to be replaced, but the Teflon tape in the sealing unit needs to be replaced as it wears out. We have all spare parts in stock and can ship them within 24 hours.
What is the difference between a Jokerline and a Jokerclassic machine?
The opening arms differ. Jokerline can open the bag square, making it easier to get the product into the bag.
Bags
Can only Pronova manufacture the bags?
No, we have licensees in Germany, France, and England who manufacture our bags.
Can I determine the dimensions of the bag myself?
Largely yes: Width 50-800 mm, Depth 100-650 mm
What is laminate?
Laminate is two or more different or the same materials bonded together into one.
Can I buy single bags?
No
What different attributes can you offer on your bags?
Perforation, zip (resealability), hang hole in various shapes, carrying handle, air vent, longitudinal seal, stand-up bottom.
What do the different micron thicknesses of the plastic material mean?
Depending on weight and other characteristics, different material thicknesses (microns) are required.
Do you have a minimum and maximum film width that you can print?
Max film width 1320 mm.
How many colors can you offer in your printing press?
We have eight printing units in the printing press.
Are your bags food-grade?
Yes, besides those made from recycled materials.
Can you make ”shaped” bags?
Yes, contact us for specifications.
How long is the shelf life of bags made of LDPE material? Is there a best-before date?
The bags last at least 6-12 months, longer under the right conditions.
Do you have standard bags?
Yes, we have unprinted standard bags that can be ordered by the carton with approximately 2000 bags per carton.
